how can one ruin a day’s worth of happiness in a flashing moment, it’s a myth.
it can happen to anyone, but more so to me!
a choice of word/sentence/tone of voice can dramatically change the surrounding atmosphere, as though there was an invisible remote control in my hand and i just manage to stumble my fat fingers across the wrong buttons at the right time, every time!
what level of EQ does it require to set the wrong back to right before the stone face set in and the cold war begins? what choice of word/sentence/tone of voice would the charming ones choose, what tactic would they play to jump over the awkwardness and move straight back to the relaxed mood? i really hate it when these incidents happen right before we are due for a party. this means that we would have to bring the remains of the ruin along and we might each put on a happy face in front of the others, but when it is time to go home, the curtain draws and we would put our poker-faced masks back on and so the awkwardness resumes.
i wonder if i’ll ever get it right, even if someone is kind enough to show me the ropes.
